Angoleiros Do Sertao

As part of the KIN Global Arts Institute, we are honored to announce our partnership with Angoleiros do Sertão, the Capoeira Angola school founded by Mestre Cláudio Costa in Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil.

Capoeira is more than a martial art — it is a movement of resistance. Born from the resilience of enslaved Africans in Brazil, Capoeira Angola is a practice of survival, freedom, and cultural identity. Its rhythm, movement, and song preserve ancestral knowledge while empowering new generations to embody strength, intuition, and community.

CAPOEIRA ANGOLA RODA - FREE

A Roda (Portuguese for “circle”) is the living heart of Capoeira. Participants form a circle with instruments, clapping, and song, while two players enter the center to exchange movement, rhythm, and dialogue through the body.

A Free Roda is open to all — students, teachers, community members, and curious newcomers. It is both performance and practice, where anyone can witness the flow of Capoeira Angola, join in singing and drumming, and experience the energy of this cultural art form.
