GLOBAL ARTS COLLECTIVE

About Us

At KIN Global Arts Collective, we believe our deepest search for identity doesn’t lie in what was lost—it lives in what has survived. Rooted in sound, ceremony, story and community, our work honours an ancient truth: across Indigenous cultures, sacred art forms are the bridge between worlds.

From the steady beat of the drum, to the resonance of the voice, the movement of the body, the craft of food & material making—they’ve never been simply “expressions of life.” They are expressions of right relationship with nature, Spirit, each other and the land. We honour these art forms as living medicine, as cultural restoration and as pathways into expanded consciousness.

By following the golden thread of these Indigenous arts, we discover connection: shared humanity, belonging, truth. We create a place of remembering and becoming. KIN Global Arts Collective is that home—a vibrant, transformative space where sound meets storytelling, where arts meet healing, and where community is ground for collective transformation and cultural restoration.

Join us as we reclaim, restore and re-illuminate the ways of the ancients, and enliven them in modern contexts of sound healing, cultural arts education, community wellness, indigenous healing arts and transformational creative experiences. We invite you into a global web of belonging—to explore, to create, to heal, to remember.

GLOBAL ARTS PROGRAMS AND PARTNERS

MOTHERLAND MUSIC

Located in the heart of Inglewood, Motherland Music is one of Los Angeles’ longest-standing centers for West African percussion, cultural arts, and music education. Since 1992, the shop has been a cornerstone for artists, educators, and community members seeking authentic African drums, instruments, and repair services.

More than a retail space, Motherland Music is a living archive of African rhythm and craftsmanship—home to traditional djembe, dunun, and hand-carved instruments sourced directly from master artisans across West Africa. Their mission is to preserve the spiritual and cultural roots of African drumming, while fostering global connection through rhythm, culture, and creative expression.

KIN Global Arts Collective is honored to collaborate with Motherland Music in bringing drumming workshops, performances, and community programs that celebrate the healing power of rhythm and the ancestral wisdom carried in every beat.

KARAYAN HOUSE

A living room for the soul, Karayán House is an intimate gathering space within the KIN Global Arts Collective, dedicated to sound, story, and shared nourishment. Each event—whether a tea ceremony, dinner-concert, or storytelling night—brings together global music traditions, ancestral foodways, and heartfelt conversation as pathways to connection and remembrance.

Rooted in the Ilocano word karayán, meaning river, this space flows with the spirit of community—where artists, healers, and culture-keepers meet to exchange wisdom and create living art. Karayán House invites guests to slow down, listen deeply, and experience how sound, food, and story become medicine for collective healing.
