Kora

The kora is a charming West African harp with 21 strings stretched over a bridge, tuned to four different heptatonic scales for a lively range of sounds. Made from a gourd covered with skin, it’s held by two handles and played with nimble thumbs and index fingers. Found in places like Senegal, Guinea, and Ghana, some koras even come with pickups to amp up the fun electronically!
